History
The radiologists at Lehigh Valley Hospital were originally employees of the Allentown Sacred Heart Hospital Center which was founded in 1974. In 1977 we established a private practice known as ASH Radiology with seven radiologists. This new group grew to twelve members at which point we merged with 5 radiologists from Allentown Radiological Association in 1992 and became known as Medical Imaging of the Lehigh Valley (MILV). Due to the fact that Muhlenberg Hospital has joined the Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, growing demand and increasing technology, along with the expanded subspecialty services and Trauma 1 needs have caused the group to expand significantly to a total of 34 radiologists to cover all of the sites and their increased volumes.
Major increases in utilization couple with significant expansion by the Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network are expected to result in further increase in the size of Medical Imagine of Lehigh Valley.
In the years ahead, we consider ourselves fortunate to have strong network organizational support and state of the art equipment to accommodate the challenges of the future.
